MSA Prayer Room

 

The MSA has a room of its own in the¬†Spiritual and Religious Life Center at Penn (SPARC). Located in the 2nd floor of Houston Hall, the MSA Prayer Room is open from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm so that Penn’s Muslims may perform their daily prayers.

Friday (Jummah) Prayer

Every Friday at 1:15 pm, the MSA holds Jummah prayers in the Platt Rehearsal room on the second floor of the Houston Hall located on Spruce St between 34th and 36th street. A mix of students and local scholars alternate in delivering the weekly khutba. All members of the Penn community are invited and encouraged to attend the services.

Masjid al-Jamia

The MSA at Penn founded Masjid al-Jamia in 1973 to provide a beacon for Islam in West Philadelphia. Currently, the Masjid is the largest mosque in Philadelphia and caters to a very diverse and vibrant Muslim community. The MSA organizes trips to the mosque for Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan and for Eid. 4228 Walnut Street (215) 386-3770
