Where to pray on campus

MSA Prayer Room

Religious Activities Common

The MSA has a room of its own in the Religious Activities Common (R.A.C.). Located in the basement of the Graduate Student Center at 3615 Locust Walk, the MSA Prayer Room is open from 9:00 am until 7:30 pm so that Penn's Muslims may perform their daily prayers. Additionally, during the month of Ramadan, the MSA holds daily iftaars and Maghrib prayers in this room.

Friday (Jummah) Prayer

Arch Building

Every Friday at 1:10 pm, the MSA holds Jummah prayers on the second floor of the Arch building located at the northwest corner of 36th and Locust. A mix of students and local scholars alternate in delivering the weekly khutba. All members of the Penn community are invited and encouraged to attend the services.

Masjid al-Jamia

Al-Jamiah Mosque

The MSA at Penn founded Masjid al-Jamia in 1973 to provide a beacon for Islam in West Philadelphia. Currently, the Masjid is the largest mosque in Philadelphia and caters to a very diverse and vibrant Muslim community. The MSA organizes trips to the mosque for Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan and for Eid. 4228 Walnut Street (215) 386-3770
