Islam Awareness Week 2011 E-mail
You DONT have to be MUSLIM to LEARN about ISLAM :D
You owe it to yourself to learn the truths and myths of everything so why not learn about ISLAM from MUSLIMS themselves... and it doesn't hurt that there is free food at every event ;)

Islam Awareness Week will start the week of Wednesday September 21st and end Tuesday September 27th.

There will be at least one event everyday and the best part is ALL events are FREE!

WEDNESDAY- Kickoff / Meet the Board - Maghreb, S'mores and Movie! Watch the award winning film "MOOZLUM" outside the High Rises.

THURSDAY- 30 Mosques in 30 days- Come meet the famous bloggers who will speak about their incredible journeys across America. Refreshments will be served.

FRIDAY AFTERNOON- Jummah outside. Come observe the Jummah (Friday) prayer, usually held in the Arch Auditorium, outside in Wynn Commons and listen to a speech made by a special guest Imam. Refreshments will be served.

FRIDAY EVENING- Movies and Munchies! Come watch a special featured film, BBC's The Life of Muhammed, and eat some movie snacks.

SATURDAY- Pick up basketball in Penn Park. Show off your moves during a basketball tournament at Penn Park!

SUNDAY- Fashion Show!! Make a donation of any amount to Somalia's Drought Relief fund and enjoy a free fashion show, performances by the Excelano project and Dhamaka as well as a FULL banquet!

MONDAY - Talk by Haroon Moghul on the status of Muslims post 9/11. Refreshments will be served.

TUESDAY- Interfaith Circle: Prayers from different traditions

Each event is supposed to show a glimpse of Muslim belief --- whether it is education, eating, exercising or socializing we have an event for all !!

NSO Chocolate Extravaganza! E-mail

We invite all students to join the MSA, Penn Pakistan Society, Penn Persian Society, Penn Arab Students Society and Penn Bangladesh Society in a...Chocolate Extravaganza!
It wil be held on Sunday, September 4th at 9 pm in the Houston Hall Reading Room.

Come to meet old and new friends, play some Wii and board games, and indulge in some delicious desserts!

2011 Alumni Banquet - Coming Up E-mail

As-salaamu 'alaikum!

 

You are cordially invited to the 6th Annual Penn Muslim Alumni Banquet on Saturday, April 16th @ 6PM.

It promises to be a wonderful evening of good food and great company, with the opportunity to reconnect with

friends and fellow Muslims from years past and to establish new relationships with rising Muslim leaders at Penn.

Whether you are an East coaster, West coaster, Midwesterner, or Mountain-timer, make the trip back to campus

for this fun and exciting reunion!

We hope that each and every one of you can make the event and look forward to seeing you soon insha'Allah.
